Food Pantry Ministry

The Silver Spring Christian Reformed Church operates a food pantry on the third Tuesday of each month from 4 - 8 pm at 1501 Arcola Ave.

The SSCRC Food Pantry aims to reduce food insecurity in our community in an environment that encourages relationships among food pantry participants, volunteers, the congregation, and the broader community. We aim to do this in a way that recognizes that God created us as individuals and as a church to live in community and to bring the justice, mercy, and shalom of God to our community with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Food pantry participants select the foods they would like using a choice based shopping model.  Foods that are available include shelf stable items, bread, and fresh produce. We also offer a limited selection of hygiene items. Church members, food pantry participants, students, and others from the community volunteer together to run this ministry.

Any household in need of food is eligible.  We ask that only one member of a household shop per month.
